Avvai Patti Meaning
This song is about Avvaiyar, the great Tamil poet whom children lovingly call Avvai Paatti (grandma Avvai). She wrote Aathichoodi, the short lines of good advice that every Tamil child learns, like “Aram seya virumbu” (love to do good).
“Avvai Paatti is a good grandma who gave us Aathichoodi and shows us the best way to live well. Kings honoured her and all the people of the land praised her. Whatever riches came to her, she gave them away into the hands of the poor.”
