Thatha Vaitha Thennai Maram Meaning
Everyone in the family has planted a tree, and every tree gives back. The coconut tree (thennai) that grandpa planted gives tender coconut water (ilaneer) from its top. Grandma’s guava (koyya) gives lots of fruit. Appa’s mango plant gives fruit as sweet as halwa.
Amma’s drumstick tree (murungai) bears without end, and big brother’s pomegranate (maathulai) ripens as round as a bowl. “And I, a little boy, will also plant a sapling and grow it.” A nice song to sing while planting a seed with your child.
