Amma Inge Vaa Vaa Meaning
This is the Tamil alphabet song. Each line begins with the next Tamil vowel (uyir ezhuthu): அ, ஆ, இ, ஈ and so on, right up to ஃ. Children who sing it learn all twelve vowels and the aytham in order.
The words are a child talking to mother: “Mother, come here, give me a loving kiss. Serve rice on the leaf and chase the flies away. Who in this whole town is as good as you? I will never trouble you, mother.”
The last lines are good advice: “I will say without any doubt, unity is always strength, and learning is good. These are Avvai’s words, and that is the way I will follow.”
