How to Play Aakku Pakku
Aakku Pakku is a counting-out game, not really a song with a meaning. Vethala is the betel leaf and paakku is the areca nut, and the rest of the words are there for the rhythm.
The children sit in a circle and put their hands flat on the floor. One child taps each hand in turn, one tap for every word. The hand that gets the last word “koiya” is folded away. Keep going until one hand is left; that child is the winner, or is “it” for the next game.
