Roti Angadi Kittappa Meaning
A child stands at Kittappa’s roti shop (rotti angadi) and calls out: “Kittappa, pat out a roti for me (nangondu rotti tattappa)! Roast a tiny roti until it is nice and red, and wrap it up for nine paise (ombattu kaasu).”
But the roti falls down, or comes out half raw (hasi hasi hittu), and the child says “I don’t want this one, Kittappa, pat out another roti!” It is a fun shop game: one child is Kittappa patting rotis with his palms, and the other is the fussy customer.
