Dam Dam Dam Meaning
A chain of animals, each one going away as the next one comes, and a big “dam dam dam” every time. The squirrel (udutha) went and the rat (eluka) came, the rat went and the cat (pilli) came, then the dog (kukka), the ox (eddu), the camel (onte) and the horse (gurram).
After that come the bear (elugu), the deer (jinka), the giraffe, the fox (nakka), the cheetah (chirutha), the lion (simham) and the elephant (enugu). And when the elephant goes, “nenu vache”: I came!
Let children walk and make the sound of each animal, then beat a drum or clap on every “dam dam dam”. It is a good way to learn animal names in Telugu.
