Malayalam Lyrics
Vaa Kuruvi Varu Kuruvi Meaning
The child calls a little sparrow (kuruvi): “Come, sparrow, come! Sit on the banana leaf stalk (vazhakkai). I will give you fibre (naaru) and coir (chakiri), and I will come along to help you build your nest.”
“Isn’t it sunny, isn’t it hot? Isn’t it nice to sit here in the shade? Don’t fly away for nothing, and don’t suffer out there without any shade.”
It is a gentle song about being kind to birds. In summer, keep a bowl of water out for the sparrows and sing it while you wait for them to come.
