Thappo Thappo Thappani Meaning
A clapping rhyme for babies. “Clap, clap, little clapper (thappani)! The clapping hands keep the beat (thaalam).” When the baby comes round clapping, there is mother to make appam, father to give a little pinch (nulli), and big brother (ettan) to snatch a hug.
“And there is sister (pengal) to scoop up the little one and give a kiss (umma).” Hold your baby’s hands and clap along, and give a kiss on the last line.
