Pathu Pathungi Meaning
This song tells the story of the tortoise and the hare. “Creeping slowly and quietly (pathu pathungi pammi nadakkum), the little lazybones: brother tortoise (aamachettan) and the long-eared hare (muyal) are friends. One day the two of them made a bet and had a race.”
“The crawling tortoise and the running white hare: which one of them will win the prize? The hare thought, I’ll just close my eyes and sleep a little, and he slept for a long time. Meanwhile brother tortoise won the prize!”
