A child stands at Kittappa’s roti shop (rotti angadi) and calls out: “Kittappa, pat out a roti for me (nangondu rotti tattappa)! Roast a tiny roti until it is nice and red, and wrap it up for nine paise (ombattu kaasu).”<\/p>\n
But the roti falls down, or comes out half raw (hasi hasi hittu), and the child says “I don’t want this one, Kittappa, pat out another roti!” It is a fun shop game: one child is Kittappa patting rotis with his palms, and the other is the fussy customer.<\/p>\n
